4th of July Party Food

I'm all about keeping the 4th of July Party Food super easy so that everyone can kick back and enjoy the day.  Who's with me?

Here are a few really easy...and totally yummy...July 4th treats with a patriotic flair that you can whip up in a jiffy.

{Ok, the salsa & star chips make take a little more time to prepare, but mostly we're talking box mixes and pre-mades here, y'all}!

1.  Mini Strawberry Pies:  Cut up some strawberries and cover them in  pre-made glaze from the grocery store.  It's usually sold right by the strawberries in the summertime.  Spoon them into mini pie shells, and squirt a little dollop of whipped cream on top for good measure.

2.  Star-Spangled Brownies:  Bake some brownies right from a box mix, then squeeze a drizzle of pre-made frosting on top.  Sprinkle with patriotic sprinkles while the frosting is still wet, and you're done!  The perfectionist in me likes to cut them before I decorate them so that the frosting looks nice and pretty on each one, but totally normal people like you don't have to do that unless you want to be crazy like me.  ;)

3.  Patriotic Fruit Cups:   This one requires no work at all, you guys...and who doesn't love fresh fruit in the summertime?!!!  Toss strawberries, cherries, raspberries, or blueberries into some cute patriotic party cups and enjoy!  I bought these little cups online, but I've seen them at Michaels, Target, and JoAnn.

4.  Red, White, and Blue Fruit Salsa:  Just before serving, combine some fresh blueberries, chopped strawberries, and chopped apples, then toss them with a spoonful of sugar and a spoonful of your favorite fruit preserves.  Serve with cinnamon pita chips.  If you want star-shaped pitas, that will take a little more work.  Cut flour tortillas into star shapes with a cookie cutter, then brush with melted butter.  Sprinkle with a cinnamon-sugar mixture (1/4 cup sugar to 1 tbsp. cinnamon), then bake on a cookie sheet in a 350 degree oven for about 7 minutes.

And there you have it!  Some really easy, totally yummy 4th of July Party Food ideas that you can serve this weekend!

Enjoy the holiday, and stay safe!
