County Fair Birthday Party: Part One
/Hey, y'all! This is a special post I'm sharing with ya today. :)
I've been holding onto it for 3 years...three years...and it's coming out of hiding for a pretty cool reason.
I'm super excited to announce that this party has been featured in Mingle Magazine!!! Whaaat? Seriously, pinch me. I'm still in shock as the words come out of my mouth! It's my first solo feature in a National magazine, and I couldn't be more honored!
So, are you ready for some old fashioned, County Fair Birthday Party fun?
Let's get to it!
See this cute little girl right here? That's my dog. And that's my niece behind her. ;)
I'm only kidding...my niece is cute, too. Anyway, I digress....
This County Fair Birthday Party all came to fruition on behalf of my sweet little niece's 8th birthday. It's hard to believe that she turns 11 years old today!!! Happy Birthday, G!
County Fair Birthday Invitation
To kick off the fun, I designed a sweet County Fair Birthday Invitation (available in my Jen T by Design Etsy Shop). A yellow polka dot pattern is included with the invitation and can be printed on the back side of the invites. I also love to use that paper to line the inside of the envelopes…it adds such a nice touch! To elevate the excitement, I tucked some admission tickets inside the envelope.

County Fair Party Decor
I wanted to create the vibe of a small town, old fashioned fair, so I went with charming, nostalgic decor that I accentuated with County Fair Printables (also available in my Etsy Shop).
Wagons, hay bales, metal tins, and an old {very heavy} wagon wheel worked together to create a cozy setting for our soiree. I especially loved that I got to incorporate my Grandma's coffee grinder into the vision. :)
County Fair Party Activities
The activities for our County Fair Birthday Party were all things that you'd find at a small town fair: egg races, bean bag tin can toss, Coke bottle ring toss, and life-sized tic-tac-toe...with pumpkins.
We even set up a planting station so the kiddos could plant their own flowers to take home. If you decide to do this, be sure to provide aprons and gardening gloves to keep the kiddos {semi} clean. :)
This is a glimpse at the food station for our fair. So small town, right?
I hope I have you swooning, because I have a ton more pics to share, but if I put them all in this post, your internet would break.
Soooo, promise you'll join me for "County Fair Party: Part Two" where I share more on our fair foods {hint: single serve mason jar ice cream may or may not be involved} and some adorable party favor ideas!
